About

Suet Wa Tam is a dancer, choreographer, and pharmacist from Hong Kong, currently based in Berlin. In 2024 she completed a Bachelor of Dance, Context, and Choreography at the Inter-University Dance Center (HZT) in Berlin. Since 2018, she has worked as a dancer, performer, co-choreographer, collaborator, and production assistant in the performance fields.

In her creations, Suet Wa blends medias and languages with dance, further pushing the boundaries of her creative expression and continually evolving her approach to dance. She is particularly interested in exploring the concept of time, using performance as a unique art form to challenge and reshape perceptions of temporality.

Her artistic research includes themes of immigration, the diasporic body, body archives, and memory. Reflecting her current migration to Berlin since 2020 and her mother migration background from China to Hong Kong, she is particularly interested in topics of colonization, the notion of home and belonging, and finding subtle yet powerful strategies to address the body politics. She is keen to explore aesthetics in ambiguity and hidden agendas, reflecting on and responding to the evolving language and new rules in a ever-changing new homeland.
