Suet Wa Tam

Suet Wa Tam is a dancer and choreographer from Hong Kong, currently based in Berlin. In 2024 she completed a Bachelor of Dance, Context, and Choreography at the Inter-University Dance Center (HZT) in Berlin. Since 2018, she has worked as a dancer, performer, choreographer, collaborator, and production assistant in the performance fields.

In her creations, she blends dance with medias and languages, further pushing and continually evolving approach to use dance to reflect different life situation . She is using durational dance performance as a unique art form to challenge the perceptions of temporality and change the perception of time and consciousness.

Her artistic research includes themes of immigration, body archives and memory. Reflecting her family’s history of migration and current different life circumstances of being a stranger, she uses movement to investigate the notions of home and belonging. She uses movements to find poetic yet powerful strategies to address body politics and explores the aesthetics of ambiguity, responding to the evolving language and new rules of an ever-changing homeland.
